I gave myself (and this work) the gift of a retreat this past weekend — to celebrate all that has been and to ready myself for all that is to come.

I was invited to join some of the most AMAZING women at one of the most AMAZING retreat homes for a weekend of renewal, rest, and reconnection with all things good.

The Timber Creek Retreat House was envisioned by and is currently operated by two of the sweetest humans on the planet, tOM and Beth Jacobs.

Before we sat down to share our first meal together tOM led us in a meditation. With his great sense of humor and gentle way of being he shared a story about a prayer/ sage advice that his father had shared with his family. And here it is…

It was a very special gift to get, and take, this invitation. To slow down— to listen, to learn, to feel, to be, to love, to give and to receive.

After the meditation we shared our first meal together, which like all of the meals at Timber Creek was made with love by the AMAZING chef, Heather, and it was DELICOUS!!!

There are so many nuggets of goodness to share with you all about this experience, but while it is so fresh on my heart and mind I wanted to capture this bit today:

As you all know, I love Noticing. I believe with all my heart that helping people Notice the goodness in themselves and others is a game changer, a mission worthy of our time, and a superpower. When I took tOM’s invitation to SLOW I rekindled my love for Noticing.

The power to look within ourselves and around at others and really see, hear, and know goodness is a gift of exponential proportions. We can share this gift in very intentional moments and we can share it in passing smiles & nods. No matter how we share it though, it always makes the world a better place when people really know they are seen, really know they are heard, and really know they matter. In my heart of hearts I believe that this is love.

Speaking of hearts, one of my favorite rooms in the Timber Creek Retreat House is called The Heart Room. The room is decorated with so many hearts. My favorite piece in that room is just filled with hearts! It just spoke to me. It reminds me that we are all unique and that though we are absolutely beautiful on our own, when we come together the beauty is exponential.

All-in-all I am so grateful for the time and space, AND LOVE that this retreat provided. My rekindled appreciation for the gift of Noticing, and for the anchor of Noticed gifts, will fuel my efforts to lead The Noticed Network in 2023 and beyond.

I believe so much in this mission, and that brings me to the reason for the title of this blog post.

As we enter into this new year I would love to extend an invitation to you.

I hope you will be a part of this ongoing mission to help people Notice the goodness in themselves and others.
